Temporary by design

A Convoy is not a permanent location feed.

Only active members belong on the map. Sharing stops when you turn it off, leave, the host ends the Convoy, or the Convoy expires.

Join flow

Send one code to the people making the drive.

  • Start a short-lived Convoy when your group is actively coordinating a drive.
  • Share a code, link, or Messages invite with the drivers who should join.
  • If a link opens the website, the fallback page helps the person open or download Idle.

Optional sharing

Location is opt-in, member by member.

  • Location sharing is optional and tied to an active Convoy.
  • Other active members should only see shared location from members who choose to share.
  • Sharing should stop when you stop sharing, leave, the host ends the Convoy, or the Convoy expires.

Focused surfaces

See the active drive without leaving it open.

  • Keep active Convoy context visible in Idle while you are an active member.
  • Use Convoy Live Activities where supported by iPhone and app state.
  • Set up or change Convoy settings while parked. Do not interact with Idle while driving.

What are Idle Convoys?

Convoys are short-lived spaces for active drive coordination. Drivers can start or join with a code, link, or Messages invite, then choose whether to share location while actively in the Convoy.

Can people outside the Convoy see us?

No. Convoys are for active members. The public website does not show live members or live location.

Is Convoy location sharing optional?

Yes. Location sharing is optional and tied to an active Convoy. Other active members should only see shared location from members who choose to share.

What happens when a Convoy link opens the website?

Convoy links are app fallback pages. They help people open or download Idle and may show safe join-code context without exposing live members or location.

Start the Convoy when the group is ready.

Open Idle, create the Convoy, and share the code or link with the drivers joining you.
